Agatha Bumblebone

Professor Agatha Bumblebone, Headmistress

Internationally-recognized Master level Transfigurationist, Professor Agatha Bumblebone has served Frogwarts as Headmistress for the last five years.  Under her leadership, the Frogwarts School of Wizardry has expanded its magical curriculum and drawn the positive attention of wizards from many different countries.  An expert in Methods of Musical Divination and Expressive Incantation, Bumblebone is a popular guest speaker at annual magical conferences, including the Association for Conjuring Kinesthetics (ACK) and the Benevolent League of Experts in Creative Harmonics (BLECH).  Muggles have been known to mistake her for Amy Ressler, artistic director of the Great Midwestern Educational Theatre Company, and Associate Professor of Fine & Performing Arts at the University of Dubuque.

Professor Eartha Underbottom, Herbology Instructor

Professor Eartha Underbottom, Herbology Instructor, joins us from her recent conference presentation tour  to magical schools in Europe and Middle Earth, where she lectured on the status of the Australian Tuberus Drosera, a carnivorous plant.  Professor Underbottom has studied various carnivores, but her favorites are cats and plants.  She is sometimes joined at Frogwarts by one or the other of her two
identical sisters, Bertha and Mirtha Underbottom, who teach ArithMagic and Hilaritology, respectively.  Although rarely seen together, they are seldom far apart!
In her Muggle-world persona, she answers to the name Linda Ressler, and is a Manager of Information Technology at Northeast Iowa Community College.  She completed her studies in Mathematics at Clarke College, and held government positions in California, Texas, Georgia, Chicago and Washington D.C. before relocating to the Tri-State area ten years ago.  Linda serves the local arts community in a variety of ways:  She has been a dedicated member of the Dubuque Chorale, is House Manager for the Grand Opera House, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Great Midwestern Educational Theatre Company.
She contributes to Frogwarts as program director as well as instructor.

Professor Erythmaticus (Professor "E") ~ Potions Instructor

Who IS this man???!!!  Don’t let his dour visage fool you — he’s really a nice guy, underneath all of that … that … well, you know.

Professor Erythmaticus (or “E” as you may say) comes to Frogwarts with a distinguished alchemical  career in Potion Concoction and
Elemental Brew Analysis.  A noted and featured lecturer at the Lavoisier Institute for Electrostatistical Circumnavigation, Professor E has published a number of award-winning studies in the field of Involuntary Invisibility.  His ground-breaking work,
Where Did I Go and How Did I Get There, won last year’s Mind-Bending Genius award.

In his Muggle persona, Professor E goes by the somewhat mysterious and earthly name of Paul Kimball.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master of Science degree from Northern Illinois University. In addition to his role as a Frogwarts educator, he teaches Science at Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta.

Professor E is also talented and hardworking photographer, who took images of Frogwarts for the GMETC archive.   We consider ourselves very lucky to have Professor E, a.k.a. Paul Kimball, on the Frogwarts staff  AND a board member for the Great Midwestern Educational  Theatre Company, where he serves on the Camps, Classes and Education Committee.

Professor Doran Fenris, Defense Against the Darkness Instructor, joins us from his recent travels in China where he studied ancient martial arts after completing his studies at Hogwarts.  His sense of quiet discipline and connection to the Magic within makes him uniquely suited for instruction in D.A.D.

In his Muggle-world persona, he answers to the name Dustin L. Derry, and is certified as an actor-combatant by the Society of American Fight Directors.  He has choreographed fights for live theatrical shows, taught classes in stage combat and served as an itinerant soldier/Knight  for the Bristol Renaissance Faire.

Professor Furrious, Care of Magical Creatures

One of our favorite returning Frogwarts professors this year was Care of Magical Creatures Professor Furrious.   To teach at Frogwarts this year, Professor Furrious took a break from leading his world-renowned  wizard safari to study magicalichthyology and arachnania.  Having identified over 700 types of the dragon and catalogued every known particle of dragon expectorant (charcoal), Professor Furrious has    published his award-winning and ground-breaking research on the magical spinning wheel spider.   His book, Eight Legs Don’t Make You a Good Dancer, is in it’s 22nd holographic printing.

In his Muggle persona, he is known as Kent Buckrop, who teaches middle school earth science to some very lucky students at Moline Middle School in Moline, IL.  He grew up along Turkey Hollow Road near Taylor Ridge, IL. As a young wizard, his favorite pet and companion was a goat who followed him everywhere!  He has a Bachelor of Science degree from U of Iowa and Masters from Western Illinois University, both in science education.   His earth science classroom is full of pets that jump, crawl, swim, slither, climb, and whistle.  Kent is a hands-on teacher so if you want to learn from him you've got to get your hands dirty, overcome your fears, and learn by doing!!
