An Interactive, Heartfelt Celebration of Life, Hope, and Human Connection

DUBUQUE, IA / SHULLSBURG, WI — GMETC and Little Bird Creativity Co. are proud to present Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, featuring acclaimed theatre educator, storyteller, and performer Amy Ressler.

Part theater, part conversation, and entirely unforgettable, Every Brilliant Thing is a deeply moving and surprisingly funny play about finding joy in life's smallest moments. When a child's mother struggles with depression, the child begins making a list of every brilliant thing worth living for: ice cream, staying up past your bedtime, laughing so hard milk comes out of your nose, and thousands more. As the list grows over a lifetime, the story becomes a powerful exploration of love, loss, resilience, and the extraordinary beauty of ordinary things.

This internationally celebrated production has captivated audiences around the world with its warmth, humor, and unique audience participation. No two performances are exactly alike, making each evening a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience.

Amy Ressler brings more than three decades of experience as an actor, educator, director, storyteller, and theatre artist to this intimate production. Known throughout the region for her work in theatre education and community engagement, Ressler invites audiences into a shared experience that is both deeply personal and universally relatable.
